If you love to ski, snowboard, snowshoe or just sit by the fire and gaze at the winter wonderland outside your window, it’s time to get excited for winter in Tahoe! Come visit during this magical time of year, but make sure that you’re in a safe and dependable vehicle, since winter driving can be challenging. A 4-wheel drive car is the best option for most situations (if the weather is any worse than that, we recommend staying by the fire with a warm drink!).

Visiting Tahoe? Don’t miss Heavenly Village Lake Tahoe! Located at the base of Heavenly Mountain Resort’s Gondola (and a close walk to the casinos), this area offers great dining, live music, a movie theater, shops, a lift up the mountain and even ice skating or mini golf! Restaurants are offering outdoor dining and take out.
Currently, the ice rink is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through April. Some of our favorite choices? Driftwood Cafe, Azul Latin Kitchen and Base Camp Pizza Co.!
*The parking garage behind the shops is free for 3 hours for guests of the cinema. It’s also $5 ($10 during holidays) after 5:00 every day.
