Year-Round Fun in Daytona

No matter when you’re planning to visit Daytona Beach, there are always lots of activities to choose from! Here are a few of our favorites that are held year-round:

The Daytona Beach’s Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m at City Island. This popular event has a rich history, a fabulous location and great vendors. Come explore food products, farm produce, crafts, flowers and more.
The Casements is a Rockefeller home located in Ormond Beach. It offers daily tours of the beautiful home and grounds, Monday through Saturday. Various events and festivals are also held throughout the year. The first Friday of each month, watch a movie under the stars in the Rockefeller Gardens!
The Halifax Harbor Marina Dinner & River Cruise is an all-inclusive 2 hour event, complete with dinner and music. Be sure to book in advance (capacity is currently limited to 50% to allow for social distancing). The food is very good, and includes a kids’ menu.

Stay Cool in Bandera

Looking for ways to cool off in the Texas Hill Country? Here are a few ideas:

The Medina River is a wonderful place for tubing and kayaking. Contact the Medina River Company in Bandera or Bandera City Park (also a great place for picnicking and swimming) for more information.
The Red Cove Cafe and Marina on Medina Lake in Mico, Texas doesn’t allow swimming but has excellent burgers; Joe’s Place Marina and Resort offers swimming, fishing and picnicking.
Prefer a water park? The Flying L Ranch Resort (right in Bandera) has a small but fun water park, as well as golf, horseback riding and other activities.
The Boerne City Lake Park offers a fishing pier, 9-hole frisbee golf, a butterfly garden, picnicking and more.
Or visit the Kerrville Olympic Pool, which charges only $1 for admission and has a kids’ pool and high dive boards.
The Louise Hayes Park in Kerrville also offers a cute splash area.

Lake Tahoe Thunderbird Tours

The cruise begins on the east shore, where the captain and crew will offer you a continental breakfast along with a fascinating history of this beautiful area. Once you reach Thunderbird Lodge, you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the estate, including the Thunderbird Yacht (one of the most valuable wood boats in the world), followed by a picnic lunch overlooking one of the most beautiful views you’ll ever see.
