Summer in Tahoe 2020

Lake Tahoe

In between washing our hands and disinfecting, we’re looking ahead to warm summer days and dreaming of new adventures! Here are some of the many wonderful events happening in Tahoe this summer (we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they can go forward as planned):

A tour of the historic Virginia City or a Thunderbird Lodge Tour (by land, boat or kayak) might round out those summer days… what are your favorite ways to spend summer in Tahoe?

Summer in Daytona

Daytona Beach Shores

Looking ahead to warm summer days? If you’ll be visiting Daytona, here are a few of our favorite summer events:

  • Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Flagler Avenue! It’s located on the New Smyrna Beach, just 20 minutes south of the Perennial Vacation Club resort.
  • Daytona Tortugas baseball season! Head over to Jackie Robinson baseball field — after the games, kids are allowed to run the bases! Find the game schedule here.
  • Visit the Ponce De Leon Inlet Light Station and climb to the top of Florida’s tallest lighthouse. The views are spectacular!
  • Over on the boardwalk, enjoy the Daytona Beach Bandshell Concerts, running May through September Friday and Saturday nights. Here you can find Beatles, Billy Joel and Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute bands, just to name a few! Find the schedule here.

State Parks in the Texas Hill Country

If you love exploring outdoors, it’s hard to beat the state parks located near our Bandera resort. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Lost Maples State Natural Area: It’s known for its fall color, but Lost Maples is spectacular year-round. With abundant wildflowers, the scenic Sabinal River and dramatic canyons, there’s lots to do for the entire family.
  • Garner State Park: Another beautiful area offering hiking, boating, fishing and much more! The park has also hosted summer dancing since the 1940s.
  • Guadalupe River State Park: Featuring the dramatic Guadalupe River, this park offers a beautiful place to swim, fish and canoe, as well as activities further from the river.
  • Enchanted Rock State Natural Area: The massive pink granite dome rising above central Texas gives this park its magical mystique. This is a wonderful area to hike and rock climb.

Of course, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife right at our Bandera resort, too! Happy travels!

Lake Tahoe’s Favorite Hot Spots

View from the Eagles’ Nest

If you’re heading to Tahoe, we’ve got a few favorite locations to check out:

  • The Loft at Heavenly Village is open 7 days a week from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and features live theater, a lounge and dining.
  • Cold Water Brewery & Grill features craft beer, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, as well as special events and live music.
  • Mont Bleu Resort and The Hard Rock Casino offer several restaurants, bars and lounges alongside casino entertainment.
  • Feel like dining right on the lake? Riva Grill is open daily for lunch and dinner and has some of the best views around!
  • There are also spectacular views (and great food) to be found at Brook’s Bar and Deck at Edgewood Tahoe, which features award-winning pub fare. (Golf Digest selected it as a “best golf pub” in 2016!)
  • Or enjoy good German food and bier (along with trivia and open mic nights) at Himmel Haus.
  • Feel like something a bit cozier? Jimmy’s Restaurant (at The Landing) features several private dining alcoves, each with their own fireplace! There are also 5 fire pits on the patio and roof-top deck, which overlooks the lake.
  • Finally, another popular spot is McP’s Taphouse Grill, which has 40 beers on tap and live music every night.

Of course, our personal favorite is Billy’s Bar in the Eagles’ Nest! Come grab a drink and check out our newly re-designed lobby!
